A place for people
to “brew” together
- Brew
- The artisan-crafted furniture, cauldrons, and brewing water tell the 150-year-old story of a local brewery. This special place is filled with over a century and a half of history and community memories, and remains a gathering place today where new ideas and projects are born. The Mitoyotsuru baton continues today to be passed on to the next generation to “brew” new local values in accordance with the times.
- Mitoyotsuru
- Mitoyotsuru is a former sake brewery that overlooks the Seto Inland Sea in Mitoyo, Kagawa Prefecture. Established around 150 years ago, the sake at Mitoyotsuru was a beloved local favorite and held a special place in the community until its closure in 2005. The brewery consists of three buildings: the wooden main sake brewery, the storehouse for sake rice, and the rice milling building. With a century and a half of sake brewing history, Mitoyotsuru is still a unique destination, attracting new visitors and contributing to the creation of local value in its community.
- Mitoyotsuru
Toji - Master sake brewers known as “toji” worked at Mitoyotsuru. Mitoyotsuru Toji is a renovated guesthouse available for rent that preserves the atmopshere that the brewers used to work and live in, allowing its guests to experience the magic of sake brewing.
